Concord Regional VNA Maternal and Child Health services are available to pregnant women and postpartum women in the comfort of their own home. Our experienced team has specialized obstetric training to prepare mothers for birth and how to care for your newborn once you leave the hospital.

What Do Maternal and Child Health Services Include?

Our skilled nurses offer:

  • "Baby's First Homecoming" visits to mothers and their newborns
    • Comprehensive assessments
    • Baby care
    • Breast-feeding
    • Bottle-feeding
    • Child illness and child safety education
    • Family planning information
    • Information on community resources such as the Parent Friend Program or Concord Hospital Postpartum Emotional Support Group
  • Use of Photo Light Therapy needed to decrease Bilirubin found in a baby's blood which causes jaundice
  • Circumcision care
  • Umbilical cord care
  • Information on when to call a physician
  • Prenatal care and support

Our social workers offer:

  • Assessment of emotional and family issues
  • Short-term counseling for mothers
